Oz uses real people's names?
Boy, when I saw the episode (season 4 part 2) when sister Peter Marie refuses to declare William Giles insane and antagonizes gov. Devlin sayin the governor of Illinois had declared a stay on all executions, and then Devlin blasts: "George Ryan is an #$%&hole!!" meaning the governor of Illinois. I allways thought the name was made up, until I saw on CNN that the governor of Illinois is actually named George Ryan!!! Wow, that gives the show that much realism.
But, on on the flip side, isn't a statement like that actionable? I mean, they are defaming George Ryan's character. 'Cause if not, than anyone can just go on TV and call Pres. Bush an #$%&hole? I sure would love to do that (and get away with it, of course).
